The Journey
Christopher Street Tours began as a merge between two interest areas: a passion for learning LGBTQ history and a love for New York City. By combining those two ideas into LGBTQ history walking tours in New York City, Christopher Street Tours was born. Our main focus on LGBTQ experiences, history, and stories is what makes Christopher Street Tours unique, and what makes us stand out above the rest, as well as our mission to make LGBTQ history accessible to all.

My name's Michael and I am the founder and lead tour guide of Christopher Street Tours, a NYC-based tour company that focuses on LGBTQ history. My interest in LGBTQ history sparked about five years ago, after an interest to write a book on the Stonewall Riots, the birthplace of the modern gay rights movement. Although the book is still a work in progress, I wanted to take all of the research and turn it into an easily-digestible and accessible tour of New York City. I felt inspired by all of the stories of the LGBTQ Movement and wanted to share these stories with the rest of the world. In combining my love of New York City with my interest of LGBTQ history, Christopher Street Tours was born in June 2018. Since then, we've given tours to folks from all over the country and all around the world. We'd love to have you join us sometime!

At Christopher Street Tours, we strive to create meaningful and educational experiences for the NYC community, as well as our national and global communities. We believe in providing accessible knowledge of LGBTQ history, lifting up voices and stories from those who have paved the way before us.

Christopher Street Tours began as a passion project from our founder, and every experience has this type of passion infused into it. All experiences provided are given due to a high level of personal interest and a passion for sharing LGBTQ history.

We have a responsibility to you, our visitors, to provide a high-quality, high-service, tour experience. We also have a responsibility to share an accurate depiction of LGBTQ history, and to lift voices of the past. This is why, incorporated into all of our experiences, you will hear stories from individuals, organizations, and communities shared from the past.
